Young Energy Leaders Future Perspectives

Im ersten Teil der Veranstaltung stellen die WEC Austria Young Energy Professionals ihre Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der zukünftigen Entwicklungen im Energiesektor vor. Die  Young Energy Professionals haben im  Zusammenhang mit den Herausforderungen der Energiewende Zukunftsperspektiven zu den Themen

• Gebäude
• industrielle Prozesse
• Öl & Gas
• österreichische Klima- und Energiestrategie #mission2030

entwickelt, die nun zur Diskussion stehen.

Im zweiten Teil der Veranstaltung wird Christoph Menzel (WEC Deutschland) die Energieszenarien des Weltenergierates vorstellen. 

Anlässlich des von 9. bis 12. September 2019 stattfindenden 24. Weltenergiekongress aktualisiert das World Energy Council seine globalen Energieszenarien. Ziel ist es, die Wissensbasis zu einer weltweiten Energiewende zu systematisieren und für den politischen Prozess besser nutzbar zu machen. WEC weist darauf hin, dass eine globale Energiewende eine enorme Herausforderung für die Innovationsfähigkeit darstellt, und dass es nur möglich sein wird, sie zum Erfolg zu führen, wenn der zeitliche Rahmen so definiert wird, dass die Innovationspotenziale ausgeschöpft werden können. WEC legt daher den Fokus auf eine "Innovationswende bis 2040" und auf Szenarien, die eine Beschleunigung der Energiewende in einer Ära radikaler Innovationen und disruptiver Technologien vorsehen.

In the first part of the event, the WEC Austria Young Energy Professionals will present their work in the field of future developments in the energy sector. In connection with the challenges of the energy system transformation, the Young Energy Professionals presented future perspectives on the following topics

• Storage & Networks
• Buildings
• Industrial processes
• Oil & Gas
• Austrian Climate and Energy Strategy #mission2030

which are now up for discussion.

In the second part of the event, Christoph Menzel (WEC Germany) will present the energy scenarios of the World Energy Council.

On the occasion of the 24th World Energy Congress taking place from 9 to 12 September 2019, the World Energy Council will update its global energy scenarios. The aim is to systematise the knowledge base for a global energy turnaround and make it more usable for the political process. WEC points out that a global energy system transformation represents an enormous challenge for the ability to innovate and that it will only be possible to lead it to success if the time frame is defined in such a way that the innovation potentials can be exploited. WEC therefore focuses on "innovation turnaround by 2040" and on scenarios that will accelerate energy turnaround in an era of radical innovation and disruptive technologies.
