2nd Vienna Energy Strategy Dialog

Digitisation is one of the central developments of our time and is changing society and the economy sustainably. The energy industry in particular is at the crossroads of this development.

The requirements for a secure and affordable energy supply system based on renewable energies will become more dynamic as a result of digitisation and generate new solutions, challenges and opportunities.

Digitization is already helping to improve the security, productivity, accessibility and sustainability of energy systems. However, digitisation also entails new security and data protection risks. Digitisation is changing markets, businesses and employment. New business models are emerging, others will disappear.

Although not all energy sectors are affected to the same extent by digitisation processes or digitisation pressure, in order to remain economically successful in the long term, all energy companies - without exception - will have to face up to digital transformation.

The 2nd Vienna Energy Strategy Dialogue, to which WEC Austria and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) cordially invite, now aims to grasp the complexity of the topic and provide orientation for companies and politicians.

The 2nd Vienna Energy Strategy Dialogue brings together high-ranking participants from politics, business, science and civil society to discuss the impact of Big Data on society and the energy sector, the importance of Big Data for energy system transformation and data security issues.
